Sargento recalls cheese due to possible contamination

Sargento Cheese Recall

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Country Fresh is recalling 2,552 cases of mushroom and fresh fruit and hatch pepper cheese products because they contain Sargento-branded cheeses, which could be contaminated with Listeria.

Inflation at highest level since June 2014
The official beginning of Brexit, likely before the end of March, could trigger a heavy Pound depreciation against the Rand. The rise in WPI is in contrast to the fall in retail inflation to a five-year low of 3.17 per cent in January.

Symptoms of listeria food poisoning (listeriosis) include fever, muscle aches, nausea and/or diarrhea. These products were made on the same line five other products that Sargento voluntarily recalled.

The safety of our consumers and our employees is our top priority at Sargento and at the very heart of all we do. Companies like Taylor Farms, who uses the cheese in Signature Select Salads made for retailers like Safeway and Albertson's, and cheesemakers like Amish Classics and Meijer have issued recalls already regarding their products using cheese made by Deutsch Kase Haus.

We are closely monitoring and gathering information on the national recall. The types of cheeses include colby, cheddar, and swiss. The company was notified by a supplier that its Longhorn Colby cheese may have been contaminated.

The recall includes Meijer Brand Colby Cheese and Colby Jack Cheese sold in Meijer stores from November 10, 2016 to February 9, 2017. The full list of recalled products can be found here.
