Tony Blair says its time to "rise up" against Brexit

The top reason Leave voters gave for backing Brexit was not immigration, but because "decisions about the United Kingdom should be taken in the UK".

She said that as a Leave voter she had been made to feel guilty and regretted her decision following the referendum. 'This is not the time for retreat, indifference or despair; but the time to rise up in defence of what we believe, ' he added.

Blair urged voters to speak out against what he said was the government's drive to exit the European Union at any cost, arguing it could damage future generations and the unity of the country itself.

John Lamont, Tory chief whip, said: "Tony Blair may not be aware of it, but the fact is that only around a quarter of people in Scotland want another referendum on independence now".

But his intervention also received a lukewarm response from some who sympathised with the sentiments of his speech. "As these terms become clear, it is their right to change their mind", he said.

He said a "cartel of media on the right" was pushing Mrs May to the exit, helped by Labour's "debilitation" under Jeremy Corbyn. "I hate to say that, but it is true", he said in the speech at Bloomberg in central London.

Wallace circled back to the press issue and said there's nothing wrong with criticizing media bias, but Trump's tweet went well beyond that.

"What this means is that we have to build a movement which stretches across party lines; and devise new ways of communication", he said.

"I respectfully say to Tony Blair, who urges the British people to rise up, I urge them to rise up and turn off the TV next time Blair comes on with his condescending campaign", he said. The policy is now Brexit at any cost.

But to Brexiteers such as Boris Johnson, this amounts to Blair saying voters are stupid.

The ex-Labour leader, who campaigned for Remain in the referendum, will speak at Open Britain, a pro-EU campaign group.

Blair began today's speech by acknowledging that the "British people voted to leave Europe" and declaring that "the will of the people should prevail".

His call for millions to "rise up" against Brexit was met with enthusiasm by some of the 47 Labour MPs opposing Brexit and senior Lib Dems such as Nick Clegg and Tim Farron.

New Homeland Security guidelines aggressively crack down on illegal immigration
He criticized the court order suspending the ban as "a very bad decision, very bad for the safety and security of our country". The measure will have a "phase-in" mechanism "to make sure that people on the other end don't get on airplanes", Kelly said.

He told Premier's News Hour: "I certainly fundamentally disagreed with Tony Blair on quite a few things, including the Iraq War.but you can't not say that he's an expert". While the model has not been confirmed as of yet, there will nearly certainly be changes that the average British holidaymaker should keep at the front of their mind as proceedings begin.

Blair was well aware he would be criticized and didn't spare even his own party in his critique, which he declared to be ineffectual and a "facilitator of Brexit".

He said: "My job is to take our party forward into an investment-led economy that reduces inequality in this county, that builds houses when people need them, that gets the good jobs people need in the hi-tech industries the National Investment Bank will fund". It is Brexit At Any Cost'.

"This is creating significant recruitment challenges in sectors that have historically relied on non-UK labour to fill roles and who are particularly vulnerable to the prospect of future changes to European Union immigration policy", Davies said. We are not leaving the continent of Europe, we are still going to work with them.

'The practical impact of Brexit on immigration is, on analysis, less than 12 per cent of the immigration total.

The ex-PM, blamed by many critics for failing to anticipate the surge of migrants from countries like Poland, agreed that immigration was the issue behind last June's referendum result.
