LG's headset could be more advanced than anything we've seen before, but should be compatible with a lot of Steam content. The company says that the new VR headset will use SteamVR Tracking technology, and possibly be built on the OpenVR platform. This will place LG as direct rival to HTC, who had in the past teamed up with Valve to create the HTC Vive VR headset. Also, LG has experimented with VR in the past - like when it launched the 360 VR headset for LG G5 flagship.
That includes using SteamVR Tracking-Valve's royalty-free and increasingly open VR tracking technology-Valve has confirmed to Road to VR.

LG has yet to share any specific details about the VR headset.
