Uber driver attacked on San Francisco freeway

Screengrab KRON 4

Shocking video shows the moment a gang of dirt-bike riders dragged a driver from his vehicle and repeatedly beat him in California, after hogging highway lanes and veering dangerously close to other cars. When the driver attempted to get out of the auto, he was badly beaten, left with a broken leg before the members of what KRON 4 reports is "a known local bike gang" fled.

A 42-second video that has gone viral shows one biker pulling the Lyft driver backward onto the ground. One motorist tried to get past and that is when the bikers went after him.

CHP officials say they began receiving reports of a group of 10 to 15 dirt bikes and ATVs involved in a sideshow on the southbound lanes of Highway 101 near the Cesar Chavez Street exit around 6:15 p.m. The biker - wearing acid-wash jeans, white sneakers and a dark top - appears to move away from the man as another biker with his helmet on takes over, punching and kicking the driver as he struggles to get up and shield himself.

A mob of motorcyclists surrounded a vehicle in San Francisco and pummeled the driver in a road rage incident caught on video. A couple of minutes later, an off-duty firefighter checked his vital signs and injuries. Police are searching for the biker gang.

"Those guys should not even have been on the road", Quintana said.

Witnesses to the incident were interviewed and a video showing the altercation was obtained and booked into evidence, according to the CHP.

The driver is in fair condition at a local hospital, doctors said.
