A Carnival Cruise Ship Almost Hit Some Jet Skiers

The Orlando Sentinel reports the Carnival Magic was chugging along Saturday afternoon when Capt. Doug Brown saw a Jet Ski with two passengers in his vessel's path. Primmer made his way toward the jet skiers when one of the boaters fell off the water craft to re-board the water craft.

While attempting to get back on board, the panicked vacationer accidentally flipped the jet ski over completely. "Brown, the Captain and bridge team of the Carnival Magic, and Deputy Primmer for their outstanding actions that resulted in the rescue of these boaters", the Canaveral Pilots Association said in a statement.

Jeffrey Scott Ray, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, was charged with battery with bodily harm shortly after the Carnival Cruise line ship Liberty arrived at Port Canaveral on Sunday.

In town for Spring Break, Allison Garrett, 20, and Skylar Pentasuglia, 19, were riding the watercraft together when it overturned, dumping them into the water. The wind pushed both women into the channel of the port, into the direct path of the cruise ship. Luckily for the two women a Brevard County sheriff was right there to pull them to safely as the cruise ship bore down on them. "We were extremely lucky to have him there to help us". "He was truly a hero yesterday,".
