Three Republicans in North Carolina's House of Representatives have introduced a bill to reverse the Supreme Court's marriage equality ruling in the state.
Rep. Larry Pittman (R-Cabarrus), Rep. Michael Speciale (R-Beaufort) and Rep. Carl Ford (R-Cabarrus) are the primary sponsors of House Bill 780.
N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper tweeted his opposition to the bill Tuesday.
Iran's Ahmadinejad registers to run for president
Ahmadinejad's populist approach and humble roots mean that he remains a popular figure among poorer sections of society. When asked why he had consistently denied intending to run in recent months, the former president reacted with a smile.
That ruling struck down North Carolina's Amendment One, passed in 2012, that said marriage was between a man and a woman. But its introduction comes just as the state is trying leave the damage of the anti-LGBTI law known as House Bill 2 (HB2) behind them. Rouhani: Terrorists are applauding Trump for attack on Syria
The news agency reported that during the Friday phone call, the Saudi monarch congratulated Trump for his "courageous decision". The Iranian president added that the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the use of chemical weapons regardless of who uses them.
The dust has barely settled since North Carolina partially repealed its controversial "bathroom bill" two weeks ago, but lawmakers there are already proposing another bold new way to curb LGBTQ rights. "We need more LGBT protections, not fewer", Cooper wrote.
The bill arrived at a sensitive moment for North Carolina, which has for much of the past year been a magnet for criticism and economic boycotts due to another bill.
It is unclear at this time how much support HB728 has, but it is important to note that Republicans have the supermajority in the North Carolina House and Senate. The ultimate impact of the bill will be a small chapter in the ongoing culture war in the state, a response to the ACC and NCAA's impact in one of the state's most divisive political issues in decades.

The injury isn't expected the sideline Bradley for long, so the hope is that he'll be ready to return as soon as he's eligible. Bradley has a.237 career average with 40 homers and 172 RBIs in 398 career games with the Red Sox.
HB 780 has not gone unnoticed by other North Carolina legislators.
