Turkey gave about 20 minutes notice before Syria strikes

Earlier, the representative of USA state Department mark Toner said the concerns over the application of Turkey's strikes in the North of Syria and Iraq.

Toner stressed the United States will continue to press the case with Turkey that all of the forces fighting Daesh (outlawed in Russia) in that region need to focus on the goal to combat the terror group.

The U.S. has emerged as the main backer of the Kurdish fighters in northern Syria, supporting the group in their battles against the Syrian city of Raqqa, the de facto capital of the Islamic State group.

Turkey conducted airstrikes this week in Syria and Iraq that killed partner forces in the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, giving little notice and making no effort to coordinate the strikes, a spokesman for Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolvesaid Wednesday.

However, the resulting strikes led to the deaths of a number of U.S. Kurdish allies, the Syrian Democratic Forces and Peshmerga forces of the Kurdistan Regional Government, operating near Sinjar.

More than 20 people were killed when Turkey launched a series of air strikes against Kurdish militia groups in Syria and Iraq on Tuesday, attacking a key United States ally in the fight against ISIL in Syria and escalating the standoff between rival Kurdish parties in Iraq. The Turkish military said "40 terrorists were killed in northern Iraq and 30 terrorists were killed in northeastern Syria in an airstrike". But Tuesday's raid was the first time Turkish forces have targeted its affiliate in the northwestern Sinjar area.

While U.S. forces were not as close to the Turkish target area in Iraq, U.S. officials expressed criticism of the fact that the strike was conducted without the consent of the Iraqi government.
