Is Google replacing Android with a new OS?

Google has been developing a new operating system called Fuchsia OS for a while now.

In the video posted by Bradshaw, we can see that Fuchsia OS is well suited for smartphones and tablets. The very alpha UI for Fuchsia, called Armadillo, can actually be compiled into a demo app to run on Android and gives us a sneak peak of what Google might be planning. The home screen is centered around a user's profile picture and scrolls vertically.

North Korea takes another American hostage
In his public confession, he said he had spied for South Korean intelligence and had tried to spread religion among North Koreans. Seoul has said the dialogues are not related to South Korea policy.

As for that profile image that dominates the home screen, you can tap on it to reach quick settings like volume, screen brightness, airplane model, orientation lock, and more. Just yesterday we were rummaging through the files provided by Google developers on Github - and inside we found a bunch of bits and pieces that make for a rather awesome look at the future.

Keep in mind that all of this is subject to change, as the Armadillo interface (and the rest of Fuchsia OS) is still under heavy development. It's a GUI that puts emphasis on cards containing "stories" that will refer to "apps and/or modules that work together for the user to achieve a goal", most if not all of them developed with the Flutter SDK and written with Google's Dart language. It has been a while that it has even got its new logo. While both ChromeOS and Android depend on the Linux Kernel, Google has made its own micro-kernel called Magenta and is a based on a mix different licenses like BSD 3 clause, MIT and Apache 2.0. Google says the so-called Fuchsia OS is meant for "modern phones and personal computers with fast processors [and] non-trivial amounts of RAM".

Tennessee teacher planned to take 15-year-old girl to Mexico
Elizabeth was flown to Tennessee Friday where she was reunited with friends and family, the family's attorney said. Authorities got a tip late last week that led them to find the pair in a remote area of Cecilville, California.

Armadillo allows cards to be dragged around used in a multi-screen format. The screen can be split into multiple apps, too, which should be an interesting multitasking function if it ever sees the light of day. The OS is tightly integrated with Google's Flutter SDK, which produces cross-platform code for Android and iOS. Then again, it's also possible that the OS will remain pretty obscure well past the half-decade mark, much like Microsoft's Midori.

No one should be surprised that recently Google "introduced" the successor to Android as we know it, with a view to show more details in the next Google I / O 2017.

Don't panic: iPhone 8 release is reportedly right on schedule
Some rumors claim that the iPhone 8 might also sport an iris scanning feature and a 3D recognition sensor to improve its security. Even if the release is delayed by a month or two, the handset will nearly certainly be launched alongside the iPhone 7s range.

When apps are opened, they appear to "hover" over the underlying operating system.
