GOP candidate for Federal Bureau of Investigation says no special counsel for inquiry

John Cornyn are very different.

While never particularly in Trump's thrall, Cornyn has been a loyal partisan since Trump entered the White House. Former aides describe him as a detail-obsessed and thoughtful boss.

Sen. John Cornyn - a former attorney general in Texas - has expressed concerns about Russian interference in US elections. It's because he brings a judge's perspective to every post he holds and every decision he makes.

The first candidates vying for the job to replace fired FBI Director James Comey will be interviewed on Saturday (May 13), with acting FBI director Andrew McCabe and Republican Senator John Cornyn from Texas among those who were expected to be interviewed by Attorney-General Jeff Sessions and his deputy Rod Rosenstein, according to sources. South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy took himself out of consideration on Monday. "I don't think there's any question", said Burgess.

The role requires Senate confirmation. "That is really an interesting dilemma for the governor".

China-made jet takes off in maiden flight
State broadcaster CCTV sent out live footage from the plane, which had no passenger seats installed for the maiden flight. The jet may yet have to undergo years of tests to get certified in China, not to mention the USA and Europe.

But the problem is the political atmosphere in Washington.

If Cornyn steps into the position, it would be during a contentious time in United States politics because he would lead the FBI's investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation.

Once reserved for cheesy senior photos at campus landmarks, college commencement exercises have graduated into something different six months after Donald Trump was elected president: a battleground for protesting conservative policies and the people who promote them. "But these are not normal circumstances". Cornyn is the Senate majority whip and the No. 2 Republican, a job that often puts him in the position of speaking for the party and defending Trump. Trump's nominee will fail if three Republicans vote against their president.

Cornyn, a former Texas Supreme Court justice and attorney general, knows how special college graduation can be for families. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), a onetime FBI agent who has been endorsed by the FBI Agents Assn., a group comprising 13,000 present and former FBI agents.

A former New York prosecutor, Garcia has served as an associate judge on the New York Court of Appeals - the state's highest court - since early 2016.

Yakamas call for faster cleanup of Hanford tunnel
Inslee said the situation had "stabilized" by Wednesday and that officials would continue to monitor air quality at the site. The Hanford facility has some 9,000 employees, most of whom were told to stay home on Wednesday, Henderson said.

Cornyn aides said the decision to cancel his appearance was the school's, not his.

"It's now time to pick somebody that comes from within the ranks or is of such reputation that has no political background at all", Graham said.

Cornyn is not expected to challenge Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who is not term-limited and is widely respected among Republican senators.

The latest example of his too-rare rationality was his objection to the suggestion that President Trump should appoint Graham's colleague Sen.

A little more than a year later, Cornyn criticized Democrats who said they would oppose the Federal Bureau of Investigation nominee, once he or she is named, if the administration doesn't appoint a special counsel to oversee the case.

That's the Tooth: Celtics guard Thomas has more dental work
Washington would go on a 26-0 run over five minutes and 59 seconds, forcing six Celtics turnovers and making 10 of their 13 shots. The reason the Wizards have been able to go on these insane runs is because of the fact that Boston keeps giving the ball away.

Trump also tweeted a warning to Comey on Friday, saying he "better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press". The White House has shifted its account of why Comey was sacked multiple times since it was announced last Tuesday.
