Anti-Sharia rallies this weekend worry Muslim leaders

The group organizing the rallies, ACT for America, has chapters around the country and says it is focused on fighting terrorism and promoting national security. It seizes on reports of criminal behavior by American Muslims, including female genital mutilation and honor killings.

Rallies similar to this weekend's that have been held in Portland and Berkeley, Calif., turned violent, resulting in numerous arrests and confiscation by law-enforcement officials of large numbers of risky weapons, so these marches will likely involve "acts unsafe to human lives" (check).

Sharia poses no threat to American life or law for many reasons, one of the most salient being it requires Muslims to follow the law of the land.

ACT said its supporters plan to march Saturday in front of state capitol buildings in almost half a dozen states, including Texas, Minnesota and Pennsylvania. "We are ordered by our religion to obey the laws of any state, any country that we live in". The event begins at 3 p.m. Officially called the "March against Sharia", it's less about "Sharia law" - a non-issue in the United States, where it is illegal - than it is about getting Islamophobes whipped up into a fury about this tiny minority. The Center for Pluralism, an organization for all Americans has taken the responsibility to inform, educate and bring security to each one of the 323 Million Americans through Education.

"It's very sad that it's happening", Abbas said. "We don't want confrontation and we don't want anybody to be unsafe". "I didn't know much about radical Muslims or jihad". Several members of Congress, including Washington's Pramila Jayapal, held a press conference in Washington D.C. today to denounce the group and its planned marches.

Classification of Sharia Based on the accountability factor, responsibility and authority to enforce the laws, the Muslim Sharia laws can be classified as Personal and public in nature. They said they would come to Seattle instead. Among the 129 signatories to the letters, which were organized by a group called Muslim Advocates, are the Union for Reform Judaism, Bend the Arc, the Anti-Defamation League, the National Council of Jewish Women and Jewish Voice for Peace, as well as the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, an umbrella body for Jewish public policy groups. The people are marching in support of human rights. SPD spokesperson Sean Whitcomb would say only, "We believe City Hall Plaza is the best venue for the event". I'd rather have the entire species become extinct except for one white boy and one white girl who were raised by a pack of wild wolves, than our race go under and the world [be] inherited by Asians and mulattos who can play the classical violin and recite Shakespeare. "We ask you to join us", the Facebook event reads.

"With the recruitment of anti-government groups and the Proud Boys, the potential for violence increases", the center said. "This is here in our country and people need to wake up". This group has been described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as the largest grassroots anti-Muslim group in the U.S. A man recently appeared outside the mosque and threatened to kill Muslims.

Some members of the Muslim community are anxious for their safety, Abbas said.

According to a seminal article on the bogeymen still holding the championship belt for terrorist organizations, the Islamic State group, or ISIS, "is committed to purifying the world" of non-Muslims because they believe the world belongs to the followers of the Prophet Muhammad. Their worries are exacerbated by fears that numerous protesters will be armed. Reached via Facebook Messenger, Kerry French, ACT for America's field-operations coordinator, said she was not authorized to talk to the media.

Organizers for all rallies say their events will be peaceful.

But another impressive streak is still alive: Dallas Keuchel has yet to suffer a loss this season through 11 starts. Likely knowing this well in advance, the Astros sent back down Guduan to call up Dayan Diaz from the minors.

None of the people she has been coordinating with are interested in a show of force or scaring anyone, Rowe said. Police will be on the streets keeping everyone safe. "We saw that in Portland and we think that's incredibly problematic", said Benton Strong, a spokesperson for Seattle Mayor Ed Murray. Rowe also mentioned that she had seen a similar figure.

Abbas said the mutilations are a rare practice.

The rallies claim to be against Sharia law. Sharia also affords many rights to members of the Muslim community, she said. ACT frames its cause as a human rights issue.

"Who is trying to implement it?" Dr. Reza Manzoor, of the Islamic Association of Greater Hartford, said "It's vital that we come together out of love and respect".
