GOP shrugs off Comey revelations, sticks with Trump

The FBI is investigating links between associates of Trump during last year's campaign and Russians who sought to influence the election by hacking Democrats.

President Donald Trump has welcomed Romanian President Klaus Iohannis to the White House for talks.

President Donald Trump declined on Friday to say whether recordings of his private conversations with fired FBI director James Comey exist, one day after Comey told congressional investigators that the president tried to pressure him to drop the bureau's investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn. Mueller and several congressional committees are investigating what United States intelligence agencies have concluded was an effort by Russian Federation to help Trump win the election by discrediting Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton through the hacking and disclosure of damaging emails and other steps. He also reiterated that the ex-FBI director, dismissed on 9 May, is a filter, referring to Comey's recognition of having provided some information to the press to put the arm on appointing a special attorney general for the investigation on the alleged Russian interference in USA elections.

Trump, who did not post on his Twitter account as Comey appeared before the Senate intelligence committee Thursday, sent a tweet at daybreak Friday. Trump was asked about Comey's testimony multiple times during a meeting with governors and mayors, but ignored all the questions. You know that, I know that, everybody knows that.

On Fox, for example, a chyron read, "Comey: President did not order me to let Flynn probe go".

Philippine military says 13 soldiers killed in Friday's battle with militants
The government earlier said the unrest had left 20 civilians, 134 militants and 39 government troops dead. Herrera said the number of troopers killed is "part and parcel of our offensive operations".

"Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication", Trump wrote, suggesting that Comey, who was under oath at the hearing, had committed perjury.

He started with some helpful flashbacks of President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and top Trump aide Kellyanne Conway lamenting back in October the poor treatment Comey was receiving from people like the Clintons, juxtaposed with Republicans today lashing out at Comey and undermining his credibility.

Fired FBI Director James Comey's much-hyped testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee was the rare Washington hearing that actually lived up to its billing.

Martin Heinrich and House of Cards' Will Conway, played by Joel Kinnaman; to "the date night plotline" introduced when Comey told the committee that his dinner with Trump had forced him to cancel plans with his wife.

Comey said he shared memos of his nine conversations with Trump with investigators for Robert Mueller, the special counsel investigating possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation.

The Kaby Lake-based MacBook Pro series was much asked for and Apple did deliver it during the recent WWDC 2017. The new iMac features the next-generation compute core and up to 16GB of on-package high-bandwidth memory .

And, despite Trump's low approval ratings nationally, his core base of supporters remains firmly behind him. Comey said there was more he could say about Sessions that he could not discuss in an open hearing.

Marc Kasowitz, Trump's recently hired outside counsel, slammed Comey for "unilaterally and surreptitiously" disseminating the content of his conversations with Trump, arguing that information was "privileged".

And on Friday, the committee sent a letter to Comey requesting any notes or memoranda "memorializing discussions Comey had with President Trump".

Comey said Obama's attorney general, Loretta Lynch, directed him to refer to the probe of Hillary Clinton's emails as a "matter" rather than an "investigation".

In 2008, the federal appeals court in St. Louis upheld a longer prison term after a judge determined that a defendant had obstructed justice when he told someone "I hope and pray to God you did not say anything about a weapon".
