Elon Musk's ride-sharing vision could save the USA auto industry

Mark Zuckerberg

Elon Musk has released several videos of tunnel construction at the SpaceX, showing the installation of an elevator created to take cars or "pods" down to a newly completed tunnel.

It was at this point that it seemed Musk might be discussing the recent announcement that his tunnel digging operation had finished the first section of an ambitious underground transport system through LA, reports CNBC.

The idea behind The Boring Company is that people will be able to travel around underground and free up roads, reducing traffic especially in busy areas like Los Angeles.

Porte ready for "massive opportunity" to win Tour
Every Tour victory has been preceded by a Dauphine win but this time he could finish only fourth. He's the defending champion but I don't think it's going to just be between Chris and me.

The tweets started simply, with Musk saying "I love floors".

Elon Musk's latest company is officially up and running. But he did tweet earlier this month about a meeting with L.A Mayor Eric Garcetti to lay the groundwork for the neccesary permits and regulatory approvals he'd need to start digging with Godot, which weighs about 1,200 tons and runs about 400 feet long. "It has begun and just completed the first segment of tunnel in LA", Musk wrote. Musk named his boring machine Godot, after the Samuel Beckett play "Waiting for Godot", back in May. In April, the Boring Company released an animated concept video on YouTube to show how the tunnels would work. He believes that the service will have a dramatic impact on the auto industry and companies, such as Uber and Lyft could head towards a downfall because of the ride-sharing vision that Elon Musk has. When the video was released, the website for the Boring Company went live.

"Build more tunnels", Musk said then.

Kaspersky Lab may face U.S. military ban over Russian Federation concerns
Eugene Kaspersky, the head of Kaspersky Lab, has himself said that he has no idea why the USA is targeting his company. Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen told Reuters in a statement that the firm just can not be trusted.

Musk said the tunnels should help people get "from Westwood to LAX in 5-6 minutes".

"A large network of tunnels many levels deep would fix congestion in any city, no matter how large it grew (just keep adding levels)".

Musk's plan for the Boring Company is to literally bore - wink wink -tunnels under the ground.
