After his underwhelming loan season with the relegated Sunderland, where he failed to register a single goal in the Premier League, the 22-year-old was told to find a new club by Jose Mourinho.

Januzaj has signed a five-year contract for Sociedad and will wear the No. 8 shirt.

Januzaj joined United's youth academy from Anderlecht in 2011 and impressed as a teenager in his first senior appearances for the Red Devils under manager David Moyes in the 2013-14 season. His last appearance for United came as a late substitute during the 3-2 defeat to West Ham in May 2016.

The Daily Mail reports that the forward will leave the club for a fee in the range of £9.8m ($12.5m), having spent much of the last few seasons on loan at Sunderland and Borussia Dortmund, where he has struggled for game time.

Following the Romelu Lukaku saga with Chelsea, Manchester United are ensuring they don't make the same mistakes.
