Lea Michele Remembers Cory Monteith on Fourth Anniversary of His Death

The couple had only been together about a year and a half when he died at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver from "a mixed drug toxicity" which reportedly consisted of heroin and alcohol.

The Canadian actor, who played school jock Finn Hudson in the hit U.S. musical series, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room in 2013, aged 31. "We miss you C. love you more ❤️". A little earlier this year, Michele told Women's Health that she now has three tatts honouring the Canadian. Another with the name "Finn" on her bottom, and "If you say so" tattooed on her ribcage, which relates to the song she wrote about Monteith, his life, and their love.

His conviction in late 2009 stemmed from his co-authorship of a manifesto calling for human rights and political reform in China. For that, he said , he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize , but also received subversion charges and an 11-year prison sentence.

Following his death, reps for Michele released a statement thanking fans for their support. In 2015, Lea opened up about having to heal her heart before allowing herself to find love again following the tragedy. "Since Cory's passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them", the statement read.

The star posted a similar tribute to her lost love on Twitter.
