This is the first appearance of Abigail in any Street Fighter title. Another hulking member of the gang, Hugo, previously appeared in the franchise in Street Fighter 3: Second Impact, but it is now Abigail's turn to wreak havoc. Event Hubs also mentioned a character page on the official CFN website with a browser tab that reads "ABIGAIL|CHARACTER DATA".

Abigail, who debuted in Final Fight in 1989, is based on King Diamond, a heavy metal musician. Further, there is something ridiculous about his character, and he is seen driving an imaginary vehicle as part of his introduction.
