British model kidnapped in Milan 'to be sold in online auction'

British model 'kidnapped and drugged' before being AUCTIONED online

A UK-based modelling agency sent the woman to the "photoshoot", and once she arrived, was promptly injected with the powerful anaesthesia Ketamine, handcuffed, and stuffed into a suitcase with a pillow case over her head, according to the report. Italian authorities believe that no ransom was paid for her release.

She arrived at an apartment the following day for the shoot, where she was attacked by two men, say police.

In the house, "the model was kept handcuffed to a wooden dresser in a bedroom" until she was released on July 17, the police said.

Milan police officer Lorenzo Bucossi told reporters the group the suspect was allegedly working for offered "mercenary services" on the dark web.

The woman was released when the man discovered she had a child, according to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, but police said it was unclear why she was freed.

As she was released on July 17th, her captor told her: "Our rules exclude mothers".

The kidnapper was captured by police while he was accompanying the model to the British Consulate in Milan.

He has been charged with kidnapping for the purposes of extortion.

Reports in Italy said the woman has given statements to police and prosecutors aided by lawyers from the British Consulate.

Police say they are still unclear whether the kidnappers were running an online scam to con "buyers" out of money or whether they actually meant to sell her on.

It is understood the police investigation involved reconstructing the kidnapping scene and studying CCTV footage from the area.

But reports in La Stampa alleged Herba had contacted the model's agent and demanded the same £270,000 price for her freedom.
