Wreckage of Bell Helicopter MV-22 Osprey found off Australia

Wichita-area native is one of three Marines missing near Australia

The three Marines have been missing since what the Marine Corps calls a "mishap" with an MV-22 aircraft on Saturday.

Cross, 26, was a native of ME who commissioned as a Marine aviator in 2013 after graduating from Virginia Military Institute, his older brother Ryan Cross told the Portland Press Herald in Maine.

Lt Cross' brother Ryan Cross on Monday said his younger sibling had the "highest moral character" and was "devoted" to the Marine Corps.

"He would sacrifice himself in a minute to make sure that his fellow service members were safe", Cross said.

Planned immigration changes in USA favour high-earning English speakers
Those aged 18 through 21 gets six points, ages 22 through 25 gets eight points, and ages 26 through 30 get 10 points. But Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton argues current levels of legal immigration drive down the wages of American workers.

The Marine Corps on Monday was considering a request from the Japanese government to ground its fleet of MV-22s based in that country, according to two US defense officials who spoke on condition of anonymity. The third has not yet been publicly identified.

"Royal Australian Navy (RAN) survey ship HMAS Melville arrived in Shoalwater Bay overnight", Australian Defense Minister Marise Payne said in a statement Monday.

Twenty-three other personnel who were on board the Osprey when it crashed were rescued.

The Osprey was conducting operations from an amphibious assault ship - a large aircraft carrier-type vessel designed for launching helicopters - when it went into the water, the Marine Corps said in a statement.

Russia's Lavrov, US's Tillerson to meet August 6-8: Russian foreign ministry
The Philippines, as this year's chairman of Asean, will host the 50th Asean foreign Ministers Meeting and other related meetings. He directed the ramping up of production in Thailand's first commercial natural gas field at Nam Phong district of Khon Kaen.

According to ABC News, the Marines' next of kin had been notified, and Australia's defense force was assisting the Americans with the recovery effort.

In 2015, a U.S. Osprey crashed during a training exercise in Hawaii, killing two Marines.

Payne said she had spoken with U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis "to offer Australia's support in any way that can be of assistance".

The accident is the 10th known crash involving the Osprey - an aircraft that takes off and lands like a chopper but flies like an airplane - since 1991. The Osprey was part of a U.S. The incident is under investigation, and it is unclear why the Osprey crashed, though landing and taking off from ships at sea is often hard and inherently risky.

Bairstow's 99 puts England on top in South Africa Test
Bairstow became the unlucky 13th England batsman to fall just a single short of his hundred in Tests. But victory at Old Trafford would at least ensure South Africa maintain a proud away Test record.
