Google adds Q&A feature to Maps on Android and Search

Google Maps new Q&A feature will be sorted by upvotes

The company is now testing a pared-down version of its Search app that uses less data and works better on slower connections, according to Android Police. Furthermore, Google Search Lite is being said to support voice and text-based searches as well. This could cause some of the most basic apps, like Google Search, to perform poorly.

It is important to note that the app is still marked as "experimental", so these features are subject to change.

None of the 23 passengers or two members of staff on board the train at the time were injured, according to SWT and Network Rail . The London Ambulance Service has said that three people were checked at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

Google earlier this year during its IO 2017 developer's conference unveiled Android Go, a mobile OS aimed for regions with slow internet connectivity. The app is also available in English along with other language options.

In recent months, some of the world's biggest tech companies have been launching alternative versions of their popular apps, designed for emerging markets. Users will now be able to search for content by simply typing or speaking, thanks to the translate feature. While the regular Google Search app starts users off with just a search bar, it quickly turns into a photo-rich experience with animations that appear as you scroll. What's interesting is that the search bar is placed at the bottom of the screen instead of on the top, making it easier to access.

While Google's efforts to make its products more accessible in certain markets is good news for some consumers, such apps would probably be appreciated in territories like North America and Europe too.

This Q&A section is more interactive than its existing offerings, which consist of users who review businesses, upload photos, provide information about a business and correct listings that are wrong.
