Danish Crown Prince denied entry to Brisbane bar

Crown Prince Frederik was in Queensland for a regatta but Princess Mary reportedly did not make the trip

Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark was turned away from a Brisbane bar when he failed to produce an identification card on Friday. "If they were to fly out today their last impression that they got of Australia is that "we weren't allowed into the venue because we didn't have a passport", even though they're sober, of age, polite".

All patrons arriving after 10pm are required to provide ID to be scanned.

Prince Frederik was said to be shocked at the refusal.

"His Royal Highness is not an internationally protected person, but it is my understanding because of his status as a visiting royal they are given special consideration in relation to their security, but also the security of our community".

After eventually being let in, Prince Frederik reportedly asked a member of his entourage if the bouncers thought he was a criminal.

He said the incident was the "tip of the iceberg" for a problem facing people going to venues every night of the week. "He must have been keen to go there because he went away and came back 15 minutes later". "With all the best intention of lawmakers, it's a ridiculous law", the Guardian reported Mr Hogan as saying. Prince Frederik was allowed in after they had Googled him, confirmed with the officers that they were actually police, and made a phone call to the liquor licensing.

NHC sees 90 percent chance of cyclone in Gulf of Mexico
The big question is, where will Harvey go once it's in the Gulf? The weak area of low pressure may become tropical by Sunday. Several aircraft reconnaissance flights are scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday to investigate Harvey's remnants, the NHC said.

"The Prince obviously did not take great offence to this, as he returned a short time later and was granted entry", said Yvette D'Ath, the state's attorney-general.

He said the first SNP meeting with authorities since the laws were enforced found the number of violent incidents in the CBD had reduced.

As ABC reports, the prince was in Brisbane as part of a visit for the present Hamilton Island Race Week event, and was denied entry to the Eagle Street eatery by security on Saturday night, while on the town in the lead-up to the regatta.

USA stocks tumble on Trump woes, Spain attack
The selling eventually resumed in reaction to the attack in Barcelona and the major indexes finished sharply lower for the day. Selling of the US currency continued into Tokyo trading, although the White House denied the rumor .

Despite the fact this sets an obvious precedent - one that nearly certainly wouldn't apply to an average punter who'd forgotten their licence - Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath says the episode demonstrated that "the licensed venue applied the law equally ... as with anyone else visiting our venues".
