Jemerson: Liverpool's deadline day target Lemar is Monaco's star man, not Mbappe

Alexis Sanchez & Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Mark Ogden talks Arsenal's transfer deadline day as Thomas Lemar rejected the Gunners and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain jumped ship for Liverpool.

Last season, the former Caen starlet made 55 appearances in all competitions for Monaco, scoring 14 goals and picking 17 assists.

The Monaco star's rebuttal means that Arsenal pulled out of a deal to sell Chile global Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City in a £70m deal on deadline day. "I was focused on my game, that's all that mattered to me".

Lemar's future rests with the player himself, with the French worldwide having been keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium when Arsenal had three bids rejected earlier this summer.

But Lemar remained uncertain on Arsenal and is said to prefer Liverpool as a potential destination.

"The player has chosen to stay in Monaco", Wenger told beIN Sports.

An extended-range version is also being developed with a 300-mile range thanks to a diesel engine serving as the range extender. The designers have also attempted to make the truck as streamlined as possible.

Thomas Lemar has since been announced in the starting lineup of Didier Deschamps' France team to play against the Netherlands.

There could yet be sting in the tale though, because Liverpool have also been linked with a deadline day swoop for the 21-year-old.

"Now I am going to make a good season with my club, to try to progress and move forward in my career with Monaco".

Monaco have already sold a number of key players this summer, including Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy to Manchester City and Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea.
