Apple confirms worst kept secret, new iPhone launch on September 12

The upcoming iPhone will reportedly ditch the physical home button and come with an edge-to-edge OLED display. The company typically starts in-store sales and shipping of its next generation of iPhones about 10 days after the public unveiling, to drive up sales before its financial quarter closes on September 30.

Prior to this, it was reported that there was a chance that Apple could pick a new date as it wasn't sure if the Steve Jobs Theater could be ready in time for the event, but we guess it was.
