Ezekiel Elliott Admits to Drug Use In College During NFL Appeal

Cowboys say farewell to Luke McCown

"We received Arbitrator Harold Henderson's decision to uphold Mr. Elliott's suspension of six games", said a written statement released by Elliott's attorneys Tuesday night.

An NFL appeals officer rejected Ezekiel Elliott's appeal on Tuesday and upheld the six-game suspension for the Dallas Cowboys running back.

A decision on the restraining order is expected by Friday at 5 p.m., according to court notes from the country clerk.

Throughout all of last season, Elliott had just one game with less than 80 rushing yards, and that was in his National Football League debut against the New York Giants, the same team the Cowboys face in Week 1 this season. If the judge rules in Elliott's favor, then he will likely be able to play the whole season for Dallas - which would obviously be massive for the Cowboys.

The Security Council also met last week after North Korea shot a missile that overflew the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. Foreign Minister Julie Bishop's office reiterated the need for sanctions on North Korea in the wake of the test.

"In the absence of a ruling from Mr. Henderson at the outset of the hearing, the judge indicated his desire to have the appropriate time to consider all legal issues before making a ruling".

You only can hope Jones, who has done so much good for the league that his bust is now in Canton, is thoroughly convinced that Elliott did not lay hands on his girlfriend in July 2016, because the alternative view would paint him as a Winning-Isn't-Everything-It-Is-The-Only-Thing owner. The argument is believed to be that the NFL did not follow the guidelines as agreed upon in the CBA when it punished Elliott under the league's personal conduct policy. If Mazzant grants the request for a temporary restraining order, Elliott would remain eligible to play while his case is pending. Henderson also barred the introduction of notes and materials gathered in the NFL's interviews with Thompson.

Taking all of the current facts into consideration, there is a strong chance that if Elliott does end up serving this suspension (or a reduced version) it will not happen until 2018.

The NFLPA says Roberts concluded after reviewing all evidence that Thompson "was not credible in her allegations of abuse", according to the filing.

WVU tied the game at 10 on a Mike Molina field goal that caromed fortuitously off the right upright from 34 yards out. Inevitably, it took Jackson a little time to get his feet wet, and it took Grier some time to knock the rust off.

The court petition filed by the NFL Players Association last week will be decided upon later this week.

If it plays out in Elliott's favor, he will be allowed to play while the matter is handled in court but could still serve the suspension later. The local district attorney did not seek charges against Elliott after Thompson reported the alleged incidents, which she said included bruises on her body that he gave her, over multiple years.

The suspension won't keep Elliott from playing in Week 1, though.

Elliott's case differs from the four-game suspension for New England quarterback Tom Brady in the Deflategate case in that Brady's legal team waited until after Goodell denied the appeal to sue in federal court.
