Apple officially explains the reason behind Face ID demo fail

Can Santa afford the new iPhone?

Your passcode can be hacked, but your face is yours and yours alone.

If you love photography, the Plus is worth paying a bit more for.

"Apple's new Face ID removes the last trail of friction-touch-and brings even greater ease of use to authentication". But how secure is the technology? They predict the technology could one day be used to unlock cars, withdraw money from ATMs or enter connected homes. You can share your vehicle keys. It makes you wonder what's next in terms of biometric identification.

Apple says that Face ID's "attention aware" feature - which can be turned off - requires the user to look directly into the screen to activate Face ID, which suggests that users can't be easily coerced into unlocking their devices by muggers, or police for that matter. Al Franken petitioned the company for details on its privacy and security safeguards. The market research firm noted "prolific expansion" since 2012 and named biometrics one of the nation's five top performing niche industries.

Cupertino has already addressed a number of consumers' concerns: For instance, facial-recognition data will be saved on individual iPhones, not sent to the cloud. Upload a picture to Facebook, and the social media giant suggests friends to tag.

Privacy experts have fought to curb the expansion of such databases. It works by relying on an advanced suite of tech - including an infrared camera, flood illuminator, front camera, dot projector, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor - packed into the front of the new iPhone X, which starts at $999.

While one-face-per-iPhone-X rule could scupper family sharing, it's not the end of the world.

Dalvin Cook sets Vikings rookie record, makes stir fry
The Vikings are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games on the road overall, while the Steelers 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. Cook totaled 127 yards on 22 carries in the Vikings' win over the Saints on ESPN's Monday Night Football .

Its Super Retina HD display helps the Face ID feature (more on which below), while it boasts a 2436x1125-pixel resolution at 458 ppi.

However, several security and privacy advocates have expressed concern that Face ID could open new avenues for surveillance and control. "Apple concluded by adding that 'Face ID worked as it was created to". This could, for example, prevent someone from opening the device using your face when you're sleeping. Speaking about facial recognition technology in particular, a face is also public whereas it is much harder to casually acquire someone's fingerprint.

In 2016, Apple famously faced off with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and then-director James Comey over an iPhone used in a terrorist attack in San Bernardino.

Law enforcement and national security agencies would love every citizen to voluntarily provide facial data, just like finger prints.

The iPhone is meant to request the secret word when the Face ID neglects to identify a face effectively.

But Maharaj said that the future is now and USA consumers will need to get ready for facial recognition.

In a statement to Yahoo, one spokesperson from the company said that it did exactly what it was supposed to do.

At least 24 people, mostly teen boys, killed in Malaysian school fire
He said 23 students and two adult wardens were killed - either trapped by the fire or dying from smoke inhalation. Firefighters who rushed to the scene put out the blaze within an hour but not before it wreaked devastation.

Apple didn't respond to a request for comment. "The more comfortable we become with facial recognition, the more complacent we may become".

The company has since confirmed that the quotes were from an Apple representative, BBC News reports. "People seem to understand that on a gut level that when they use biometrics for their own purposes".

"It feels like privacy is getting scarce", said Byron Miranda, an audio visuals integrator from Los Angeles who was shopping with his family. Just a quick glance at the screen and you're good to go.

"I don't think we should reflexively reject facial recognition".

Shopper Mike Strong, a 29-year-old who serves in the Navy, simply called it "creepy".

Schiller noted on stage that Face ID's accuracy statistics are lower if someone shares a close genetic relationship with you, and Brackeen echoed this sentiment.

If Apple's answers are anything like the answers it gave in its response to the 2013 letter, the gist will be that because the faceprint is stored in the Secure Enclave and therefore is inaccessible to Apple, its services or its partners, many of these questions will be moot. Think about what iPods did to compact discs, and what the iPhone did to the Blackberry. The phone was dealt with by many people previously they put it for the demo on the stage.

David Johnson could need wrist surgery, visiting with specialists
Arians was referring to Johnson's rookie season, when he took over as starter when Chris Johnson went down with a knee injury. Johnson had six catches for 68 yards before his exit. "Our young guys, we'll see what we got and what's available".
