He was born Monte Halperin on August 25, 1921, in Winnipeg, the son of a slaughterhouse owner father and an actress mother.

The show aired with Hall as host until 1976 and for years in syndication.

"Let's Make a Deal" premiered in 1963 and quickly became a phenomenon. It was rebooted with Wayne Brady as host in 2009, to which Hall gave his approval.
