Szechuan Sauce back in local McDonald's

Behold the power of cartoons: Because of an obscure reference in the new season of the Adult Swim cartoon "Rick and Morty", McDonald's is bringing back its throw-back Szechuan Sauce dipping for one day only.

The viral interest in McDonald's old Szechuan Sauce, thanks to the show "Rick and Morty", has led one local McDonald's to bring it back. The promotional dipping sauce was originally released in 1998 for the Disney movie "Mulan".

Now, McDonald's has announced that it will be reviving the sauce to promote its new Buttermilk Crispy Tenders. It's most likely that the sauce will come in little packets like McDonald's other dips and getting ahold of more than a couple might prove to be hard.

Iran exports bloodshed and chaos across the Middle East
If he argues that Iran is not in compliance, that could cause an American withdrawal from the global pact. Journalists asked what he meant and Trump said: "It could be, the calm, the calm before the storm ".

McDonald's will start serving Szechuan Sauce starting at 2 p.m. on October 7, while supplies last, according to the release. It was only available for a limited time and disappeared quietly, that is until it became a punch line in the "Rick and Morty" show two decades later. One-ounce packets of McDonald's Szechuan sauce are also going for about $50 - yes, those are the tiny sauce packages McDonald's gives you with McNuggets. McDonald's chef Michael Haracz said in a release.

Rick and Morty fan Tony Kowalski of St. Clair Shores, 39, has never tried the sauce but plans on making a trip to McDonald's this weekend to score a packet.

Fewer than 1,000 restaurants across the United States will take part in the sauce and poster promotion, according to McDonald's.

Not even Dan Harmon could see a one-off joke about a limited-edition sauce from McDonald's turning into the pandemonium it is today.

The McDonald's-inspired gag quickly took hold within the show's fan base and across social media platforms.

So the fast-food chain chose to play along.
