Police: Man killed, 2 others wounded in shooting at N. Side Starbucks

One man was killed and two others were wounded, including a 12-year-old boy, in a shooting Thursday night at a Starbucks in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side of Chicago, authorities said.

The shootings occurred about 8:15 p.m.in the 4700 block of North Broadway Street, police said.

The deceased was shot in the body and was declared dead at the scene, police said adding that the 12-year-old was shot in the groin and was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center by ambulance immediately. His condition is not yet known. The slain man and the shooter apparently were involved in a transaction at Wilson Avenue and Broadway, after which the victim ran into the Starbucks. Police say a gunman shot a man outside the coffee shop in what may have been a drug deal. The suspect is still at large.
