Facebook wants Canadians to send them their nudes to combat revenge porn

Mr Gillespie‏ added'Facebook themselves have perverts hiding in their closets. They would just love a nude collection of its users with an excellent cover story about protecting people from revenge porn! #PervBook

Basically, once a user sends their nude photos to Facebook, the company can "hash" the images and specifically find ways to recognise and block them if they pop up anywhere else on Facebook, Messenger, or Instagram. Australia's eSafety Commission said Facebook doesn't store the image, it stores a link and uses artificial intelligence to sort out the pictures.

Social media giant Facebook is trialling a new system urging its users to 'send nudes'.

"As part of our continued efforts to better detect and remove content that violates our community standards, we're using image matching technology to prevent non-consensual intimate images from being shared on Facebook, Instagram, Facebook Groups and Messenger".

Sheep can recognize Baaaa-rack Obama's face, new study shows
In a final test, the sheep had to choose between a picture of one of their handlers' faces and an unfamiliar face. When a portrait of the handler was interspersed randomly, the sheep chose them seven out of 10 times.

The social networking site said they worked with the National Network to End Domestic Violence, Center for Social Research, the Revenge Porn Helpline (UK) and the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative to ensure their methodology was sensitive and helpful to victims.

According to FOX News, after piloting in Australia, Facebook plans to test the program in the United States, Britain and Canada.

One woman said that she would be in favour of this if it stops intimate images being sent without the consent of the person in them.

Japan's 'Black Widow' sentenced to death for murder
During the trial Kakchi admitted to killing Isao Kakehi, saying he had not treated her well financially, but later retracted it. Her murderous web won't protect Japan's "black widow", who's been sentenced to hang after a months-long trial.

"We would expect that Facebook has absolutely watertight systems to guard the privacy of victims".

Julie Inman Grant, Australia's e-Safety commissioner, said the company will not store the images permanently as after they are processed into a hash, the code is all that will remain.

In a trial in Australia, Facebook asked people anxious that their intimate pictures might be posted by an ex partner to provide the images to Facebook, so that it knows to prevent them being uploaded in future.

"To prevent adversarial reporting, at this time we need to have humans review the images in a controlled, secure environment", Stamos further explained on Twitter.
